Summer is the chance to get outdoors and bask in the sunshine. With the renowned landscapes, live music, and outdoor beer gardens sprouting up throughout Bucks County, summer creates plenty of opportunity for your entertainment. From June through September, whether you’re looking for a round of golf or a festival with your neighbors, you won’t have to venture outside of Bucks County.
Car Shows. If you’re new to the area, you’ll quickly find out Bucks County is home to multiple car shows. Lovers of classic and vintage cars will flock to Newtown, Quakertown, New Hope, and Perkasie this summer as car shows have their dates set. Watch as owners of antique automobiles and motorcycles compete for awards, and you’ll see different cars at each show you attend. Enjoy vendors and converse with other car lovers.
Festivals of Fruit. Sample some of the finest and tastiest fruits in the county. From peaches to blueberries to strawberries, there are festivals throughout the summer where you can sample the treats while enjoying entertainment and music. Shady Brook Farm is hosting their Strawberry Days the first two weekends of June so you can pick your own strawberries on a wagon ride. Then on July 11, visit Peddler’s Village for their Bluegrass and Blueberries Festival, and stop back on August 8 for their Peach Festival. Plus, Bristol will be hosting their 21st annual Peach Social on the first Sunday in August.
Beer and Wine Festivals. Watch demonstrations of 17th-century style brewing at Pennsbury Manor on June 20 right next to the Delaware River. Indulge in a little history, sip on beers from the finest breweries, and try delicious food to provide a memorable summer night in Bucks County. This summer also features beer and brew fests in Doylestown, New Hope, and Quakertown.
Wine Trail. Follow the trail from town to town and learn how wine is produced in one of the renowned grape growing regions on the entire East Coast. Tour the wine cellars and experience the history of wine making from Buckingham Valley Vineyards to Wycombe Vineyards.
Hot Air Balloon Rides. Get caught up in the exhilaration in the sky while floating in a hot air balloon. Take in the scenery of Central Bucks County and enjoy looking over the Delaware River and the mountains in the area. Departing from The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm every morning and afternoon, enjoy champagne and hors d’oeuvres after landing.
